About Me

My photo

Over the past few years my blog has been visited by people from all over the world. Very few know me, or of me, they simply are looking information concerning the Bible and discover my blog. After many years of intense study and teaching, I've come to believe we are vulnerable to misguided and incorrect teaching if we don't understand for ourselves the teaching of God's Word. My 'hot buttons' are - grace, sovereignty, exhortations and sanctification. If you understand these basic principles of Scripture, and apply them to daily life, you will understand what it means to have peace, joy and absolute security in any circumstance.

This is so hard to do - in all things give thanks. We suffer at times and suffering is not pleasant. And yet, God says to be grateful and say 'thank you' anyway. In this verse in 1 Thessalonians 5:18, God tells us why we should do this.

". . .give thanks in all circumstances , for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."

If you are a believer, you are safe, secure in God's love, and absolutely assured of eternal life. Whatever difficulties we struggle with here on this earth have been designed to bring us into a closer relationship with God. Most of us rebel of course, that's our human nature. God is with us in every trial. He doesn't need to explain what He's doing and why He's doing it. We worship His holiness. John, whom the Lord allowed a glimpse into heaven and authored the Book of Revelation wrote. . .

"Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth. . .singing:"

"To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb (Jesus), be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!"
Revelation 5:13

I sometimes hear Christians worry that they may be 'out of the will of God'. Forget that; we have a sovereign God who "works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will..." Ephesians 1:11. Everything! Not just the things that look 'right' or 'good' to us, but everything! Learn this verse, hold it very close to your heart because Satan likes to steal this truth from us. He even works through other believers who have a problem with self-idolatry. Either God is on the throne, or you are!!
This week those of us who live in America will be celebrating Thanksgiving Day; a holiday unique to our country. It all started with the Pilgrims from England who crossed the Atlantic Ocean and landed on the eastern shore of what is now the United States of America. These people were in search of freedom and were willing to risk their lives to obtain it. God sent some Indians who helped these Pilgrims survive by teaching them how to grow food and protect themselves from danger. A special day of giving thanks to God was set aside hundreds of years ago, and we still honor our humble beginnings and acknowledge the blessings of God. A big part of this annual celebration is making special food as we gather with family and friends. I, therefore think it's appropriate to include a couple of recipes in this Thanksgiving Day blog.
